Congressman Jim Bridenstine on Hagel Defense Budget

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel on Monday announced his recommendations to the President for the Defense Department’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget and beyond.  Congressman Jim Bridenstine had the following response:
“The Obama Administration’s runaway spending on entitlement programs is now crowding out the federal government’s ability to perform its most important function – national defense.  President Obama’s FY15 budget will downsize America’s military to its smallest Army since 1940, smallest Navy since 1917, and smallest Air Force ever.  During his budget announcement, Secretary Hagel also took another swipe at our Reservists and National Guardsmen who have fought shoulder-to-shoulder with Active Duty forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.  As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will resist the President’s reckless cuts to the world’s finest military.”
