Battle for Oklahoma – 2nd Congressional District Chair Attacks!

But
when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same
Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their
right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new
Guards for their future security.  – from
the Declaration of Independence
A long train of abuses continues. “Elements”
within the Republican Party continue to abuse their position, to the gain of
one candidate over another. This time, both a Tea Party group and the Ron Paul
campaign are accused of trying to “takeover” the Republican State Convention. A
few points:
The “Ron
Paul Campaign” has no official presence in Oklahoma at this time.
There is a
very large grassroots effort on behalf of Ron Paul that does not receive
help, guidance or funding from either the National Campaign or any other group.
The term
“takeover” is inaccurate. We are simply Republicans showing up to participate.
We will see you on Saturday, Mr.
Montgomery. We would like to know what your objection to our participation is.
We would also like to know why you refer to us as “elements” instead of
enthusiastic and active Republicans. Finally, we would like you to point out
that in order to be a State Delegate, you are required to attend a Precinct Meeting
and become a Delegate to your County Convention, and then attend County to
become a Delegate to State. If you don’t do this, you can’t be a delegate to
state, right? So, it might be too
late, if you didn’t go to those meetings, correct? We have rules about things
like this, don’t we? We will be watching.
We certainly agree it will not be
boring.

Greetings
Delegates!

It’s not too late!  You can still attend the State Republican
Convention on Saturday!    You can register online or at the
door.

I promise it will not be boring!  I have been to a lot of State
Conventions, and I guarantee you will remember this one!

Mike McCarville says (see link)

“Elements of the Sooner Tea Party and the Ron Paul for
President campaign are prepared for an attempted takeover of the
Republican State Convention in Norman on Saturday.”

You can sleep in on Sunday!  This will be one of the most
important State Conventions you will ever attend.  Details and
location are available through the State GOP offices (click here).

Thanks,

Tom Montgomery
