Debt is the Greatest Threat

Randy Brogdon gave a rousing speech at a Tea Party Express Bus Tour rally, telling the crowd that the national debt of $17 trillion is a debt-choking noose around every American’s neck.

The 2014 political campaign season will have a prominent presence on the Oklahoma State University campus thanks to the OSU Debate Series: Decision 2014. The series kicks off with a U.S. Senate Republican Primary debate on Thursday, May 1 from 8-9 p.m. inside the OSU Student Union Theater.

The debate is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Former state senator Randy Brogdon, Rep. James Lankford, and State Representative T.W. Shannon will engage in the hour-long debate, which will be streamed live on OState.TV (www.ostate.tv). The candidates will be available for media interviews following the debate.

GUTHRIE — The biggest threat to liberty and economic prosperity is coming from Washington, D.C., said former state Sen. Randy Brogdon, a candidate for U.S. Senate to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn.

“No more debt. No more spending. No more borrowing money,” Brogdon said Monday night to the American Legion in Guthrie.

The federal government is $17 trillion in debt. Government over reach is so powerful that it involves itself in the daily lives of Americans, he said.
