By Jackie Whitley (Bartlesville, OK)Jackie grew up in Sulphur Oklahoma our smallest county. She graduated from OSU and then followed her husband to four other states and back. She wanted to retire in Bartlesville if he wanted to come and he did. They homeschooled four sons in Iowa, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

Fluoride was the second most propagandized ad after cigarettes. It has not been reevaluated since 1952.  We have reevaluated lots of other things but not fluoride!

  • Cigarettes
  • Asbestos
  • Lead in paint
  • Even C19 protocols.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) does not require it.  Therefore, any water director can stop it today.  All they have to do is just stop adding it to our water!

If there are any benefits of this neuro toxin it is topical. And I’m doubtful of even that.

Having fought this fight before in Kansas the ‘Doctors of Only Teeth’ are usually on the other side. The wrong one. They already almost ruined my health with eight mercury fillings I had to have removed. I still have a nickel one.

Do they care that it lowers IQ in children?
Calcifies pineal gland where melatonin is made?
Do they know if it’s more detrimental for Diabetics or anyone who drinks more water?
How about the people with only one kidney ?

Is 0.7 even safe for children and all the groups of people listed above?

Here is what I am doing and ways you can help!

  • Getting the conversation going on Signal groups and Facebook Messenger groups.
  • Speaking at city council meetings.
  • Phone blitzing the water director.
  • Phone blitzing the city manager.
  • Phone Oklahoma Governor’s office and request he sign and Executive Order (EO) to stop it statewide.

Everyone can help! People who live in the city and surrounding areas too. Each community impacts surrounding areas. For example – I drive to Bartlesville to Farmer’s Market or to Dewey to Second Saturday and request water not have anything unnecessary added there too.

Request meetings with the city manager & water director.

Meet with city council members and educate them on the topic.

Ask President Trump to write an EO to stop it.

Ask Governor Stitt to stop it with an EO.

RFKennedy Jr could probably stop it nationwide.

The EPA lost a lawsuit in 2024 and is reevaluating.

If it is not gone by 2026 then I hope to have a Representative willing to write a bill to ban it state wide.  I am planning to run in Ward 5 in 2026 to increase conservative representation on the council..

I honestly think if we can eliminate flouride more people would be awake and we would have more fighters for other issues. I feel it’s a root cause of apathy. If you don’t sleep well you don’t have any energy to fight.

I recommend a counter top reverse osmosis machine for under 300$. A whole home system is about 10K$ if you don’t want to shower with it.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has a page you can search via state then county.

Link to use when traveling for fluoride information by location.

I lived in Alfalfa county and only the city of Jet added fluoride to their water. Enid is in Garfield County and adds fluoride also. I think it’s criminal if there’s a military base since our military has no choice where they are stationed!

Cities who have discontinued:

  • Shawnee
  • Purcell
  • Fairview
  • Lawton

In Kansas it was a bipartisan effort to not start adding fluoride. I worked with a Democrat and the daughter of the lady who ran the health department. We had about 15 workers.

For Bartlesville or Dewey or Washington County folks interested in our phone blitz and emails:

Terry Lauritsen – Water Director
(918) 338-4116 tllaurit@cityofbartkesville.org

Mike Bailey – City Manager
918.338.4282 mlbailey@cityofbartlesville.org

Governor Stitt (405) 521-2342 governoroffice@iq.ok.gov

Note: Copan is only city in Washington county that doesn’t add fluoride to the water.

Good luck & God Bless,

Jackie Whitley
