2025 State Chairman’s Proposed Convention Agenda:

On Saturday, hundreds of Republicans from across Oklahoma will gather in Oklahoma City to participate in the OKGOP State Convention.

Current Agenda –

In looking at this agenda, this violates the customs of the OKGOP to do elections as the first, instead of the final piece of business in a convention, as the Convention Rules reflect, which state that elections are supposed to begin at 2:30pm. This agenda can be rearranged by the delegates.

We need an agenda that is in line with the goals of the delegates who paid a high delegate fee (the same price as the OKGOP has charged for two-day convention, but only allowing us, at maximum, one day of business). The delegates deserve a Convention that is efficient and well-run so that the OKGOP can be positioned in the best way possible for the next two years.

Goal #1: Remove Delegate Allocation for YR/CR

We want the Young Republicans & College Republicans to be delegates to the convention through their counties, instead of as a separate delegation, where they are collectively given thirty delegate votes, more delegates than over half of Oklahoma’s counties. We have rules that should be consistent for every member, and we want that to also be true for our auxiliary groups Learn more here.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to approve a new OKGOP platform and other rule changes (OKGrassroots position on rule changes).

Goal #2: Elections

Goal #3: Pass the Rules Reboot

The Rules Reboot reorganizes everything by topic, many of the same provisions appear in multiple sections, often worded differently. The reboot package consolidates related rules into single, coherent sections, and removes any identical duplicates.

Goal #4: Censure the State Chairman

The Budget Committee is tasked with financial oversight of expenses and approving any expenditure, and directed the Chairman to provide all bank and credit card statements. Chairman Dahm directed the treasurer to not send out the required statements. Learn more here.
