The OKGOP Rules outline how to allocate votes for both County and State Conventions. Here is a spreadsheet with all the formulas for your use.

To build a spreadsheet for your county, you will need to:

  1. Download the Election Results from the most recent Presidential or Governor’s General Election
  2. Pull the vote count for Governor or President in each Precinct
  3. Put that into a spreadsheet and determine what percentage of the vote came from each Precinct
  4. Determine the total number of delegates you want for the Convention (plan for 150-200% of the delegates you normally have for the allogorithm to give the best representation to all Precincts)
  5. Multiply the total number of delegates by the percentage that each precinct carried in the recent Governor/President election.
  6. Turn that into a whole number of delegates, with every Precinct receiving at least (1) delegate.

Publish to all the Precincts the allocated delegates per Precinct.

To collect results at Convention:

  1. Input the precinct number and delegates for that precinct into a spreadsheet
  2. Add the credentials report number.
  3. Have a formula that gives each delegate the proper amount of “weight” – each delegate can carry up to (2) whole votes.
