Lots of people forget these local elections, but they are some of the most important and can cost you a lot in taxes if you don’t say no to bonds and ongoing indebtedness. So this is your reminder to GO VOTE and SAY NO to bonds and continuing sales taxes every chance you get!

Some voters will have Board of Education primary elections and/or municipal races on the ballot. Others may have school and/or municipal propositions. County questions will be decided in Johnston, Latimer, and Woodward counties. Meanwhile, voters in Creek, Noble, Osage, Pawnee and Payne counties have a House District 35 Special Election. Huge bonds and sales tax extensions in Washington County. (More on Washington County ballot here: https://scrosnoe.wordpress.com/2026/02/06/warning-bond-election-feb-10th-vote-no-to-reduce-your-taxes/ )

Sample ballots are available in the OK Voter Portal.  (if you have no sample ballot, then you have nothing to vote on this time.)

Voters should be prepared to show a valid proof of identity when checking in with election workers at their voting location. Voter with questions should contact their County Election Board or the State Election Board at (405) 521-2391 or info@elections.ok.gov

Vote at your regular polling place (see your voter ID)

Polls open 7AM – 7PM Tuesday February 10th.

OK VOTER GUIDE

Feb 10, 2026

School Boards & Bond Issues

This voter guide provides our recommendations in Oklahoma elections in which we are familiar. There are some races that we may miss or don’t have the information needed to make a suggestion. We cover Tulsa County/Wagoner County areas more extensively, but do our best to cover the major elections in other counties.

HERE ARE OUR RECOMMENDATIONS for the Feb 10 elections:

CREEK COUNTY:

Sapulpa City Council Ward 1

·      My Choice – Mike Harris

·      Brandon Mull

·      Elisabeth Nicolas

Drumright School Board

·      My Choice – Brandy Ann Baugh

·      Daryn Christy

·      Teena Nishimuta

TULSA COUNTY:

The only 2 school board districts that have more than one running:

School Board – Dist 4

·      Our Choice – E’lena Ashley

Ashley is currently holding that position and has done a good job standing up strong for the students and holding the schools accountable. She is a fighter.

·      Connie Dodson

School Board – Dist 7

·      My Choice – Mike Phillips

·      Susan Lamkin

WASHINGTON COUNTY:

There are 5 propositions on the ballot:

Our Recommendation is to vote NO on all five!

#1 – Fire Fighting Apparatus Project

#2 – Street & Bridge Projects

#3 – Parks & Recreational Facilities Projects

#4 – Economic Development Sales Tax Extension

#5 – Capital Improvement Program Sales Tax Extension

·      Our Recommendation – Vote NO to ALL FIVE

Note: Like most bond proposals, mayors and city councilors are quick to say, “this won’t raise your taxes.” But in reality, if not passed, it will REDUCE your taxes. Anytime a tax is about to expire, they are quick to replace it with something new and create a project or throw it into a fund for a future project—but then the money could get moved. City governments are loathe to have a tax actually expire and so replace it immediately with something they know we will fall for. It get’s old.

Citizens are generous and will almost always vote in something for schools or for city streets, first responders or parks…three of these proposals hit those areas…but there are issues!

IS YOUR COUNTY NOT LISTED?

If you don’t find information on one of your races here, I’m so sorry! I can only cover so many things. If you don’t agree with my choices. No problem. These are our personal recommendations from working with these people and/or researching their records.

Another voter guide option is i-Voterguide.com. They try to rate candidates based on surveys/records, although I was pretty disappointed with some of their lack of research in their recommendations during a previous election. However, better than nothing.
