Maria Ayton of The Maria Moment
In what seemed like less then a week, the media changed the narrative from the Trump assassination attempt to Kamala. The Democrats casually switched their nominee just a few months shy of Election Day, as if that was a completely normal thing to do. Maybe they are hoping we will forget, and not care how the shooter was able to get that close. Maybe they don’t want us to ask questions about the glaring things that shouldn’t have happened that day. Maybe they think they can control what we do and think, by controlling what we remember.
In journalism they say that journalists “write the first rough draft of history.” But instead of doing that and digging to the bottom of a story to get the people the truth, the media moves on from stories that don’t fit their desired narrative. By ignoring and misrepresenting, or all out lying, they are rewriting the first draft in real time. It’s been just over two weeks and they’re already trying to make us forget what we saw with our own eyes.
It points to the broader efforts by the media, left, and academia to rewrite the American story. America’s history is rich and exceptional. It is unlike the story of every other nation on earth. And if we as a people knew that story, the real story, we wouldn’t let them take that from us.
For decades, the public education system has quietly rewritten the story of America. In recent years, we even saw an effort to reject 1776 as the beginning of America and start our story when slavery came to the continent, once again rewriting their desired narrative. And the media cheered it on.
History tells us that the basic step to destroying a great nation is by tearing down its past. If the citizens do not know their country, they cannot properly love and preserve it. You love something deeply when you know it. I know America’s story – where she came from, what she stands for, her people, system, culture, and founding ideals. And that makes me love her.
In 2020, there was a concentrated movement to tear down historic statues and rename schools after historic figures. Just this past week, protesters in D.C. defaced monuments with spray paint and tore down American flags. It’s a destructive movement, one that happens in nations where communism takes over.
First they slyly rewrote the history books, and now they openly tear down our history in broad daylight. They went from doing it in the shadows to changing the prompts on Google to try and erase the assassination of the most influential cultural and political figure of our time from our memory.
Once again Orwell warned us when he said, “The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
