Are you planning to attend your District convention in a few days? Congressional District Conventions are held once every four years corresponding with the presidential election. For those in CD1 and CD5, yours will be held on Saturday, April 6. For those in CD2, CD3 and CD4, yours will be held on Saturday, April 13. (see end of article for details)

If you were thinking of skipping it, please think again. This meeting is VERY important for it is at the District Convention where we get to elect people from our district to cast our vote for president at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee from July 15-18.

At each of the five District Conventions, three delegates and three alternates will be voted in as well as one elector and one alternate. At the State Convention (May 3-4 in OKC) we will vote in 25 delegates and 25 alternates along with 2 electors and 2 alternates. Additionally, the State Chair, National Committeeman and National Committeewoman will automatically be seated as part of that delegation making a total of 43 delegates for Oklahoma who will represent us at the RNC.

The number of delegates awarded to a presidential candidate, at least in Oklahoma, is based on the percentage of votes received in the primary. Donald Trump won the nomination in the primary hands down. According to the OK GOP Rules, if a candidate wins over 50% of the vote, they will receive all of the delegates. Trump won over 81% of the votes in Oklahoma. As a result he is to receive all 43 Oklahoma delegates.

But will he?

According to the OKGOP Rules, Oklahoma delegates must be “faithful.” This means they are required to be faithful to the vote of the people according to the primary—that is at least on the first round of voting. Most conventions conclude after one vote—uncontested. But if a candidate isn’t chosen in the first vote, delegates are no longer bound to the vote of the people they represent. With the controversy surrounding Donald Trump and the establishment Republicans who do not want him to be president, there is speculation that there will be an attempt to force the vote into a second round making it a “brokered” convention. This is where no candidate receives more than half the votes of the delegates and fails to nominate a candidate on the first ballot. Then the nomination is up for grabs.

Since Trump is the only candidate still in the running is it possible Haley or DeSantis could still get votes on a second round of voting? I think we have seen in the current political landscape that almost anything is possible no matter how bizarre.

This is where we must safe guard that the will of the people will not be circumvented as we saw in the 2020 election.

Remember how counting stopped in the middle of the night where Trump had huge leads and then miraculously, by morning, somehow Biden had emerged far ahead? Where video footage of crates of ballots were pulled out from under desks in Georgia, but “fact checkers” tell us “nothing to see here.” In Oklahoma, there was a 130,000+ jump in absentee ballots from the Democrat Party between 2016 & 2020 but a 100K decrease in the number of registered Democrat voters at the same time!  That doesn’t add up.

The 2020 election was a statistical impossibility when you consider:

  • Biden had fewer votes than Obama did in 2008 in 70.7% of counties, yet still supposedly got nearly 12 million more votes than Obama (virtually an impossibility).

Also consider:

  • Obama won 873 counties and won the election.
  • Biden won 477 counties and won the election.
  • Trump won 2497 counties, but lost the election.

Or:

  • Obama won 18/19 bellweather counties and won the election.
  • Biden won 1/18 bellweather counties and supposedly won the election.
  • Trump won 18/19 bellweather counties but lost the election.

(Note: a bellweather county is a county that historically has chosen the national winner every time.)

Let’s not forget the eye-witness accounts, video recordings and the fire-hydrant of evidence that confirmed the results from the 2020 election were anything but normal. Speculation is that the 2024 Republican National Convention may follow suit.

In the Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Nathan Dahm and Tulsa County Chair, Ronda V. Smith joined with the OK Democrat Party Chair to insist there were no issues with elections in Oklahoma. Anytime Republicans are saying the same thing as Democrats, I propose there IS an issue.

Combine that with the bizarre attacks which took place recently at the Oklahoma County Election Board and the Tulsa County Election Board against people who simply asked questions about election integrity and transparency. Does this make us feel like our elections are safe? Hardly. Click to read: “Are Our Elections in Oklahoma Safe?”

This is why your Congressional District Convention is so important. Because of what we have experienced, it is essential that the people we vote for as National Delegates and Electors to represent us, are actually true MAGA Trump people. Currently there are several running for these positions in each district who DIDN’T vote for Trump in the primary. If they didn’t want Trump then, how can we be sure they will be faithful to vote as the people of Oklahoma have voted now?

We can’t. Yes they will tell you there are rules and laws that must be followed and that they will be true to the people of Oklahoma. But in the OKGOP we are continually told to “follow the rules” as leadership breaks them—and has broken our trust.

The minor $1000 penalty which could be accessed for not voting per the rules, would hardly deter someone determined to keep Trump out of office. Lobbyists attend both the Republican and Democrat National Conventions armed with cash and incentives to buy votes. Are we willing to take the risk of electing someone as a national delegate or elector who says “I’ll vote for Trump” when two months ago they didn’t?

That’s why it’s a “must” you attend not only your District Convention but also the State Convention and cast your vote for those of us who were convinced from the beginning that Donald Trump, whether you like him or not, is the man to defeat the corrupt cabal that is trying to destroy our nation.
