Three resolutions for Oklahoma

The new year is a time for resolutions. Here are three for state government, things the Legislature can do in the upcoming session that would make Oklahoma government more effective and accountable.

The first resolution will be familiar to a lot of us: slim down. Take a look at a list of Oklahoma state agencies and compare it to other states. Or look at the 150-page directory necessary to list all the agencies, boards, and commissions. We’re not a big state, but we have a sprawling state government bureaucracy….

It is said to be China’s biggest church and on Easter Sunday thousands of worshippers will flock to this Asian mega-temple to pledge their allegiance – not to the Communist Party, but to the Cross.

The 5,000-capacity Liushi church, which boasts more than twice as many seats as Westminster Abbey and a 206ft crucifix that can be seen for miles around, opened last year with one theologian declaring it a “miracle that such a small town was able to build such a grand church”.

I am pleased to be a part of this project.  You see, Jesse C. Jones, met the Lord about the same time my earthly father did and they made sure their children had a chance to study the word and meet Him too!  So Jesse has been a lifelong friend and mentor in the things of the Lord.  I began helping to publish his works on Scribd many years ago and now we are working on these bible study guides for the new testament.  They are free to read and download.  All you need is the link!
