Huge Congratulations to Mike Mazzei on his election! In a night full of disappointments in other states, Mike Mazzei led a red sweep in Oklahoma. It is our hope that Republicans we elected on Tuesday night will fully support our wonderful OKGOP platform. You can review it here. That said, there is much going on in our state that does not align with our fundamentally conservative values, particularly in the area of public education.
For many years now, I have encouraged parents who can do so to educate their own children. It assures parental control and excellence for each child. However, many simply cannot manage that and therefore, we must do all we can to use our tax dollars wisely in the public schools. With the right leadership, we can and will improve classroom moral and educational proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic!
In Oklahoma, we have a strong advocate for sound educational policy among us. Her name is Deborah Campbell. She has a substack where she keeps people interested informed on matters confronting us in the public education arena. I want to make people aware of her substack so that you can follow her directly and share her latest article offering some strong suggestions to Governor Elect Mike Mazzei,
Her substack and recent articles are here.

Her series on Beyond the Classroom; When did Public Education become involve in Healthcare starts here.
What follows is her most recent article with some powerful suggestions as to how Governor Elect Mike Mazzei can start strong in setting policy to keep education focused on improvement to excellence in the classroom. I would add that he most assuredly should involve Dr. James Taylor in his administration. He knows how to do this and loves the children and inspires educational excellence and enthusiasm everywhere he speaks on the matter. We are blessed to have him in Oklahoma!

A Test of Leadership: Will Mike Mazzei Honor the Oklahoma GOP Resolution on School-Based Healthcare?
by Deborah Campbell | November 5, 2026
As an Oklahoma constituent, taxpayer, grandparent, and family advocate, I have six important questions for our newly elected governor, Mike Mazzei.
For more than six years, I have researched the expansion of school-based health centers (SBHCs) and school-based healthcare services in Oklahoma. My concern is that public schools are increasingly moving beyond their primary mission of academics and taking on responsibilities traditionally belonging to healthcare and social service systems.
Millions of taxpayer dollars are being directed toward healthcare infrastructure, medical data systems, billing personnel, staff training, and contracts with outside healthcare providers. These expenditures raise important questions about financial sustainability, government oversight, parental authority, and whether schools are operating within their appropriate constitutional and professional responsibilities.
Oklahoma’s public schools need to remain focused on educating children. Our new governor has an opportunity to address these concerns and honor the June 2025 Oklahoma Republican Party Resolution opposing the expansion of K–12 school-based health services and health centers.
Six Questions for Governor-elect Mike Mazzei
1. GOP Resolution: Will you commit in writing to uphold the June 2025 Oklahoma State GOP Resolution and establish a timeline for implementing its provisions?
2. Executive Action: Will you issue an executive order directing OSDE, the State Superintendent, and OHCA to review and discontinue SBHC expansion, examine existing contracts and grants, and prevent further commitments to these programs?
3. 2027 Legislation: Will you work with legislators to introduce and pass the following proposals during the 2027 legislative session?
- 2026 SB 1634.
- Stay in Your Lane — proposed 2027 companion legislation.
- Your Child, Your Choice: The Power of Informed Parental Consent.
4. Independent Audit: Will you request an independent audit of OHCA and Oklahoma’s School-Based Medicaid program to examine potential fraud, waste, abuse, improper expenditures, and program oversight?
5. Private Insurance Protections: Will you establish safeguards to protect parents’ private health insurance benefits from inappropriate or unauthorized use by schools and outside healthcare providers?
6. Legal and Constitutional Review: Will you direct the Oklahoma Attorney General to review the legal authority for K–12 SBHCs and, where appropriate, challenge their legality and constitutionality in court?
An Invitation to Governor-elect Mazzei
After more than six years of independent research, I am available to consult with the governor and his administration. I can provide supporting documentation, policy research, and three proposed pieces of legislation addressing these concerns.
Oklahoma needs leadership willing to examine government spending, protect parental authority, and respect the constitutional purpose of public education.
The June 2025 GOP Resolution should be more than a political statement. It should lead to meaningful action.
Will Governor-elect Mike Mazzei honor that commitment?
