This primary has been the most exciting one I have seen in my twenty years in Oklahoma. Last night I shared my annual picks for the primary on my personal blog here. This year it was easy! We have so many great candidates who have taken the no lobbyist money pledge seriously and have included it on their campaign literature and their flyers. In my opinion, you need to look for the gold standard “No Lobbyist Money” pledge for any candidate in any race – top of the ticket to the bottom of the ticket. I for one want people in office answerable to the constitution and the rights of the people rather than big business and corporate interests trying to buy and influence votes.
I have scanned the state looking for all the candidates that I could find who have taken this pledge and are actively advertising it on their literature. If I missed anyone, my apologies and please send me a graphic (sandra@okgrassroots.com) and I will be happy to update this article! In addition to that we have two new websites available to us to help with this process (article here):
(1) to track consultants and lobbyist money both and how it impacts voting scores for incumbents
https://moganetwork.com/research
(2) to encourage grassroots campaign donations to grassroots candidates
Now for the exciting part. Just look at all these flyers from candidates who cannot be bought!
