I believe the run-off in Oklahoma can be won by the grassroots easily IF we are willing to put in the work. We cannot ever count on the media to win our battles for us! The good news is that we probably know our voting population and it is much smaller than the original target lists for the original primary. The people who voted in the primary are the most likely voters to vote in the run-off. Here is the plan if you want to do something in your county for any / all of the run-off candidates.
The Plan
- Obtain your county voter list of all Republican voters that actually voted in the primary.
- Sort it by street then number and household it (exclude apartments if resources are limited)
- Obtain materials for each candidate that you wish to help. Some will provide them and some will provide you a master that you can make copies of as needed.
- If you are doing multiple candidates, you may wish to get plastic door hangers for your materials
- Deliver these door to door before the run-off.
Just for an example my precinct in Washington County comes to about 200 households. If each precinct chair/vice chair in the state takes this project on we can make a significant difference. Besides all that, these are the people that we need to get to know and stay in touch with routinely. So take time to visit and gather phone numbers and emails as you go.
