The Health Education Act SB 702 has not made it out of committee and there is only one week left to get it out. Our Action Alert this week is to call and urge Senator Adam Pugh to hear the bill and release it to the floor for a vote.

Passing this bill will limit K-12 Health Education to nutrition and physical exercise and activities and prevent such woke programs as comprehensive sexual education, gender theory, and social emotional learning (SEL). It is an important limitation to have on the books!

There is much that could be done through the office and administration of Superintendent Ryan Walters. Please call his office as well and let him know your thoughts on the matter. Limiting the expansion of bureaucracy and getting back to fundamental instructional matters would be helpful in all areas of education. Let’s get focused on the basics. Here are some ideas for talking points when you make your calls and write your emails. All of our public servants need to hear from us routinely. We need to encourage them when they do the right thing and challenge them when we know they can do better!
