in Washington County, Flock Cameras (aka ALPR – automatic license plate readers) were proliferating and some of us started trying to educate our fellow citizens and patriots of their dangers. There are many problems associated with them, like invasion of privacy and warrantless searches, but sadly many are oblivious to both the dangers and the cost and that they are violating state law in many cases.
Recently Representative Tom Gann (OK-HD8) came to do a special presentation for us on this topic. He is a wealth of information, as he had conducted an interim study at the capitol entitled:
Track & Tax, Surveillance Cameras and Warrantless Searches

Rep. Tom Gann: Flock Surveillance Cameras and Their Threats to Civil Rights and Liberties
Video presentation by Rep Tom Gann in Bartlesville (1hour 32 mins)
Shortly after Rep Gann’s presentation in Bartlesville our Washington County Commissioners rescinded their prior approval for Flock Cameras. We still have several cameras in the area to get removed but they all must go!
Gary Kilpatrick (a precinct chair in Washington County) sent a letter to our city council that he shared with me and I asked him for permission to publish – which he graciously gave. It covers much of the case law background to this topic. It is well worth the read!
