In 2024, every registered Republican in Oklahoma has the opportunity to participate in shaping our Party’s platform and rules as well as voting on our delegates to the RNC convention where the national delegates will vote for the Republican Presidential nominee. These party events shape the future of our party and therefore our nation! Please mark your calendars to participate in the process!
At every level, starting with the voters in their precincts, delegates are intended to represent those who elected them. Being a delegate is not only a privilege, but a responsibility to represent those who elected you and their values when you vote at the conventions.
Please compare everything presented here with the OKGOP Rules, the Rules are the final say!
It should be noted that Precinct Officers, County Officers, and State Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected in 2023 and hold their positions until 2025 (they have two year terms). See first column regarding Odd # years in Addendum A inserted below from the OKGOP Rules:
In Presidential years, the convention process is primarily about electing delegates to the National Convention to select our party’s presidential nominee. This chart is the footnotes to Addendum A chart above (page 35 of the OKGOP Rules). The second column above regarding Even # years details the process for 2024.
The main sections of the OKGOP Rules relating to the convention process:
- RULE 16 – CONVENTIONS (SEE CHART IN ADDENDUM A)
- RULE 17 – STATE CONVENTION COMMITTEES
- RULE 18 – NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF DELEGATES TO NATIONAL CONVENTION AND PRESIDENTIAL ELECTORS
The official call with date information should be released from the state in January with detailed dates and deadlines. That has not occurred as yet, but when it does it should be sent to County Chairmen for dissemination to their people. However, below are some very likely date scenarios for your planning purposes.
Precinct meetings often occur in January and February. These are specifically for platform and rules changes and to elect delegates to represent your precinct at the county convention. Regular precinct meetings should be occurring routinely as we continue to grow and develop as a party. That is the fundamental building block for our party structure. Start now to get together with people in your neighborhood (registered Republican voters for this process) and make plans for who you would like to see represent you and what your goals are for the party in this presidential year!

School Board Elections will be held on February 13, 2024.
Super Tuesday is March 5, 2024 (our Presidential Primary) (For all other elections in 2024, click here)
County Conventions: Most counties will have their County Conventions in March. All county conventions must be completed by Saturday, March 16, 2024 (according to Nathan Dahm, OKGOP state chairman)
School Board Election Runoffs will be held April 2, 2024 – this election date may also include municipal elections
Congressional District Conventions must be completed by Monday April 15, 2024 (according to Nathan Dahm, OKGOP state chair) This is one of your opportunities to run for delegate or alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention in July. It is best to attend your precinct meeting and county convention to be able to attend your Congressional District Convention.

The OKGOP State Convention will take place in the OKC metro May 3-4, 2024. Here you will vote for at large delegates to RNC (usually presented as a slate).
The Republican Party Primary (for state legislators) elections will be held on June 18, 2024.
The Republican Party National Convention will be held on July 15-18, 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Republican Party Primary Run-off will be held August 27, 2024.
The General Election will be held on November 5, 2024.
