If you are looking for patriotic things to do over the 4th of July, you couldn’t find a better choice than to see the new movie “Young Washington”. It’s the perfect antidote for all the relentless negativity constantly showered on our country by foreign invaders, the Left and their captive media puppets.
And it’s not because it’s a cheery, happy movie where everything goes perfectly. In fact, just about everything that can go wrong for young George does. His father dies young and he is initially unable to get an education. He is then unable to obtain a military commission from the British. When he is tasked by them with leading a militia to deliver an ultimatum to the French, who have built a fort on contested land…the situation deteriorates and he suffers a devastating defeat.
But that is the point where the movie offers catharsis for today’s black-pilled world, which insists on always winning and where people quit easily. Washington embodies virtues that are traditionally American. We never give up and we learn from our defeats. We try unconventional approaches, such as shooting from the cover of trees, instead of forming facing lines out in the open. We fight to win and can be utterly ruthless.
A couple weeks ago, the X social media site was swamped by posts by foreign visitors from Europe and Japan visiting the US to see the World Cup. They came here expecting to be endangered and treated rudely, only to discover that normal Americans in the heartland are incredibly friendly and welcoming, to those who come to us in friendship. God has blessed us incredibly here and we prefer to greet others in brotherhood and love.
Young Washington is a reminder that we also make relentless enemies, when we have to fight.
