The First Rough Draft of History: Rewriting History as it Happens

The First Rough Draft of History: Rewriting History as it Happens

In what seemed like less then a week, the media changed the narrative from the Trump assassination attempt to Kamala. Maybe they are hoping we will forget, and not care how the shooter was able to get that close. Maybe they don’t want us to ask questions about the glaring things that shouldn’t have happened that day. Maybe they think they can control what we do and think, by controlling what we remember.

The RNC Platform – Why The Committee Betrayed Republican Values

The RNC Platform – Why The Committee Betrayed Republican Values

The RNC Platform committee met earlier this week. In that meeting, Trump and his campaign put forward a list of objectives for the 2024 Platform. Many Republicans and conservative groups were gravely concerned with the weakening of key conservative principles in this list. The Platform Integrity Project, a coalition of over forty conservative family organizations, urged Republicans to contact the delegates representing their state, pleading that they would not strip core Republican values from our platform.

Nashville Trials Sentencing – Light Sentences or A Travesty of Justice?

Nashville Trials Sentencing – Light Sentences or A Travesty of Justice?

Many years ago I started praying a fairly repetitive prayer, that I might see things the way my Heavenly Father sees them. I believe that over the years He has answered that prayer and continues to do so. I do not see things the way I used to and I still don’t always see things clearly, so I continue to pray.

Several months ago, I wrote a story about Paul and Bethany Vaughn’s ‘battle for life’ in our courts. You can read that earlier account here. The case was completed. Paul and the others were found guilty on all counts and sentencing was scheduled for this month and did indeed occur on July 2nd and 3rd.

The sentencing guidelines were broad and he faced from probation up to 11 years in prison. It was a long few months from then to now, for a life to hang in the balance, for Paul’s family and friends. Many times as I prayed, I felt the agony of uncertainty for them all. They have eleven children and a business and I have no idea how one plans for that type of situation. When the sentencing came down it was time served, three years of supervised release, and no fine — far lighter than it might have been. So my first thought was how wonderful that it was not a lengthy prison sentence! Then almost immediately, my rejoicing turned to sheer horror as I saw that we as a society are punishing those trying to save life and the murderers walk free. Rejoicing in a light sentence, we have literally accepted punishment for someone who was doing good and saving lives. I am certain that the Lord is grieved over this matter.

Removing an Officer of the OKGOP

Removing an Officer of the OKGOP

The Chairman demonstrated his unwillingness to follow the OKGOP Rules by failing to respond to the call requested by the 83 members, and instead calling his own meeting, without offering the Vice Chairman the opportunity to join that call. The Chairman’s attempt to obstruct consideration of his removal is a bold outright challenge and defiance of the authority of the State Committee.

An Open Letter to Nathan Dahm

An Open Letter to Nathan Dahm

Why is it that so many of the Republican ideals of government are being ignored under your administration? You were elected because the people thought that you stood for those ideals in the Senate and would stand for them in the party, not become the “senate leadership” that you rightly call out. We at the county level are accountable to our counties.  You, as our chairman, are supposed to follow and carry out our directions.

Reasons for Voting to Remove Nathan Dahm as State GOP Chair

By Karen Hardin

For some, the news of 83 members of the State Committee calling for Chairman Nathan Dahm to resign as OK GOP Chair, came as a shock. To others, who knew more of what was happening behind the scenes, it was met with a sigh of relief. Either way, it is important that the members of the Republican party understand at least some of the issues that have taken place since his election in May 2023.
