The fabricated memory of January 6

tags FBI, Wray, January 6, slavery, Color Purple, James Watkins] We in America have a collective memory of what slavery was like in the 19th century. And when I say we have a collective memory, I mean we share a fabricated collective memory. Slavery was real, but no one today has a real memory of […]

Let the Games Begin

“To an authoritarian ruling elite insane narratives serve as both loyalty test and humiliation ritual.” —Kit Knightly The ordeal of the holidays, and the void of action that attends it, is over. Now, history resumes its awesome out-spooling. Will it be tyranny, collapse, war, civil war, renewal? Probably some wicked combo of all that. The […]

White rage in the military: the report is out

Remember General Mark “Thoroughly Modern” Milley? As Chairman as the Joint Chiefs of Staff he called his Chinese counterpart and told him should America plan action against China, he’d let them know in advance. He pushed our military to new lows of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity madness. It was he whose priority was to discover […]

It’s not just Trump: Democrats are moving to bar Republicans from ballots nationwide

As the decisions disqualifying former President Donald Trump from the 2024 election work their way through the courts, a new filing in Pennsylvania seeks the same “ballot cleansing” by barring Republican Rep. Scott Perry. It’s only the latest effort targeting congressional candidates as Democrats seek to bar opponents as “insurrectionists” for questioning the election of […]

Torture at Abu Ghraib

An Iraqi who was told he would be electrocuted if he fell off the box. I am on vacation this week but thought it would be useful to republish a painful story I did two decades ago for the New Yorker about a group of US army soldiers who went out of control amid a […]

The Great Clarification

“Time for The Great Uprising to defeat The Great Reset. This isn’t just an R vs. D question in 2023. It’s a 1776 moment.” —Vivek Ramaswamy I’m already liking 2024. Consequence is itching to return to the American scene. Somewhere around 2016, cause and effect got a divorce. After that, things just happened or unhappened […]

Celebration of Life for Porter Haskell Davis 1947-2023

I so wanted to be there in person! Thankfully Randy Barnett was able to live stream me in to the live service on December 29, 2023. I captured some screen shots and will add some thoughts as I listened to the various speakers. The pervading thought that I had was that I was hearing about A LIFE WELL LIVED! A life that touched so many facets of so many people’s lives.

We will all miss him but as the pastor said although Porter is absent from among us. He is present with the Lord! He gave a great analogy of being absent in school, but we know where the child is – at home with his parents. Same for us when a believer passes – absent with us but present with the Lord. We shall see him again.

Can we predict 2024?

Despite all of my disastrously wrong past predictions, I cannot resist sharing my thoughts on the coming year. Before I start, let’s accept that state-created pain, state hypocrisy, and state-funded murder around the world – much of it funded and enabled by the US Government – will continue apace. Like a game of musical chairs, […]

Do You Dare Even Look? — Forecast 2024

“I’ve also lost patience with the Sharia of the political left taking over the entire system.” — David Collum Historians of the future, flash-frying peccary testicles and mesquite pods over their campfires, will wonder at how the archetypal Shining City on a Hill of America’s storied yesteryear got transformed into the roach motel that our […]

Democracy Dies in Daylight

Eight years ago the Washington Post pledged to save democracy, but now argues we need to be saved from it… A month ago in the Washington Post, not long before the Colorado mess, neoconservative icon Robert Kagan wrote, “A Trump dictatorship is increasingly inevitable. We should stop pretending.”
